SAPC is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA). As such we are locally led by Ruling Elders, an ordained position, charged with the governance of the congregation. The active Elders make up the Session. There are nine members of session who are elected by the congregation to serve a three-year term with eligibility for another three-year term. The Pastor moderates the Session but has only one vote, which our pastor has not used to this point. The people govern the church and its finances, not the pastor.
